CHARLESTON MAN KNIFED IN DRUG DEAL - After a Charleston man backed out on a marijuana sale, he was stabbed multiple times by men trying to get their money back.
Lt. C.E. Thompson of the Charleston Police Department said two sisters from Chesapeake went to an apartment on Roosevelt Avenue, allegedly to try to buy marijuana. The man who lived in the apartment took the money, but turned the women out without giving them anything.
The two sisters likely asked two male friends to go to the apartment where they allegedly stabbed the man in the apartment several times.
Jason Smith, 25, of 6641 1/2 Apartment B on Roosevelt Avenue, was in stable condition after surgery, suffering multiple stab wounds.
Charleston police arrested Brandon Butler, 19, of Chesapeake, and Neshawn Dukes, 25, of Charleston, and charged each man with burglary and malicious wounding.
They also arrested Danielle Clyburn, 24, of Chesapeake, and charged her with burglary and malicious wounding as well as simple possession of marijuana.
Also arrested was her sister, Amy Clyburn, 21, of Chesapeake, charging her with burglary and malicious wounding.
DISMEMBERED WOMAN WAS STABBED -
A woman whose dismembered body was found inside a suitcase and black plastic bag in Back Creek in Berkeley County was stabbed to death.
Her identity has not been released.
A man and woman fishing in a boat spotted the suitcase and bag in the creek Sunday and alerted authorities.
CHARLESTON MAN SHOT NEAR RIVER - A man was shot early Thursday near the Elk River in Charleston.
Tony Medley, 35, was shot once in the leg at 1:23 a.m. at the intersection of Daniel Boone Drive and Clendenin Street.
Medley refused treatment from paramedics and left the scene. Medley did not cooperate with investigators and no one has been arrested in connection with the shooting.
TEENS INVOLVED IN STABBING -
Police say two teenage males were involved in an early-morning stabbing in Belle.
One teen was stabbed at 144 Branch Road shortly after 3 a.m., Kanawha County sheriff's officials said.
The teen was stabbed in the back and chest and taken to Charleston Area Medical Center's General Division.
Police said his injuries do not appear to be life threatening. Deputies are still searching for the unidentified male accused in the stabbing.
