Following years of discontent with Kanawha County owning a golf course that rests mostly in Roane County, the problem will be resolved.
The Kanawha County parks commissioners decided to sell Sandy Brae Golf Course, located just off I-79 near Clendenin and Amma.
"We have more golf courses than we have golfers to support them," said Anna Dailey, the commission's vice president. "We'd like to be able to put our monies into the sorts of things that benefit children and the citizens of Kanawha County as broadly as we can.
Most of the officials expressed problems with owning the course in another county, although it has been in existence for many years.
