| Virgie Hunt Simons, 88, of south Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away July 18, 2006, at the Rocksprings Rehabilitation Center in Pomeroy, Ohio.
She was born October 23, 1917, at Oka, W.Va., a daughter of the late George W. and Florence Jarvis Hunt. Virgie was retired from Corning Glass Works after 37 years service. She enjoyed reading, traveling and yard work. She was a Baptist by faith.
She is survived by one daughter, Alice Rockhold and her husband, Lawrence, of Waverly, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Lora and David Rockhold, both of Waverly, W.Va.; and three great-grandchildren, Daniele Rockhold, Whitney Rockhold, and Tyler Wagner, all of Waverly, W.Va.
Services were held Friday, July 21, 2006 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer. Burial followed in the Josiah Jarvis Cemetery, Oka, Calhoun County. |
