Politicians have had a difficult time allowing America's primitive and national park sanctuaries to remain in tact, changing the rules for their use or selling acreage off for development.
A recent Bush administration plan to sell national forest land, including 5,000 acres of WVs Monongahela National Forest, has been put on hold.
The plan for a nationwide 300,000 acre parks sell-off was to raise $800 million for schools and roads.
Major changes have been made, and more are pending, with the rules for the use of America's national forests, owned by the taxpayers.
Those changes are to allow road building, timbering, drilling and mining. |
