A criminal investigation is continuing in connection with the confiscation
of 100 marijuana plants in Calhoun County, Cpl. D.P. Starcher confirmed
Tuesday evening.
Cpl. Starcher, of the West Virginia State Police, Grantsville detachment,
said no one has been taken into custody at this time.
Arrests are anticipated in the case, according to Cpl. Starcher. He
indicated
the matter could go directly to a future grand jury.
Neither the Glenville, nor the Grantsville detachment, released details of
the precise date or location of the marijuana seizure.
Cpl. J.E. Skidmore, Glenville detachment, said the plants were near the
Gilmer-Calhoun
line and indicated the seizure occurred in the past several days.
Tr. M.S. Summers, of Glenville, aided in the case.
Anyone with information regarding illegal drug or other criminal
activity can
call their local West Virginia State Police detachment. All information,
including the
identity of the callers, is kept confidential, police said.
