CHARLESTON WEST SIDE SHOOTING - Andrew Harrison Smoot, 19, of Charleston was charged with malicious wounding in a West Side incident. He shot Douglas Reaves in the arm.
Police also charged Marcus Wesley, 20, of Charleston with the West Side shooting. Allegedly one of the two shot Reaves outside the Charleston Department Store, then tossed the gun and sped off in an SUV.
Smoot was last in court in September, charged then with possession with intent to deliver drugs. He had a gun hidden on him when arrested, court papers allege.
Wesley was indicted June 20 by a Kanawha County grand jury, charged with possession of a stolen vehicle.
FOUR ARRESTED IN LOGAN SLAYING - Two men and two juveniles were arrested after allegedly killing a Logan man last Saturday afternoon.
Brian Dotson, 20, of Logan and Scott Ray Frye Jr., 19, of Ohio were arrested and taken to Southwestern Regional Jail.
They and two juveniles allegedly killed Terry Stover in the Isom Branch area of Lake in Logan County.
Authorities were unsure of the motive.
ST. ALBANS SUNDAY SHOOTING -
St. Albans police arrested one person for a Sunday shooting.
The Charleston Gazette reports "Police were initially called to an A Street residence for reports of shots fired about 10:50 p.m., said St. Albans Police Sgt. Joe Crawford. Officers received information a van was leaving the residence, stopped it and found the female victim inside."
"Crawford said the woman, whose name was not immediately available, was shot once in the ankle. She was treated and released for the injury."
