| Raymond John Starkey, 71, of Grantsville, West Virginia passed away June 28, 2006 at his home on Pine Creek after a long illness.
Born April 9, 1935 in Roane County, he was the son of the late Lee Roy and Avis Alta Nichols Starkey.
He is survived by his wife of 45 1/2 years, Alta Merle George Starkey; eight children, William George and his wife Sabrina of Parkersburg, John Starkey and his wife April of Lakeland FL, James Starkey of Grantsville, Tammy Little and her husband Stanley of Arnoldsburg, Pam Cutlip and her husband Jerry of Parkersburg, Patrick Starkey and his wife Dawn of Grantsville, Rebecca Snider and her husband John of Grantsville and Lisa Banfield and her husband Arnold of Williamstown; 13 grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Brenda Sue Starkey and his sister, Evelyn Godfrey.
A memorial service will be held at Victory Baptist Church in Grantsville at 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 2nd Rev. Mike Worf will officiate.
