Relay for Life this past weekend was a time to remember those taken by cancer, but it was also a celebration of life for those who have survived the disease.
The event, originally scheduled for Wayne Underwood Field, was moved inside to CM-HS due to predicted rain.
Last year the event raised about $26,000.
Hundreds of Calhoun and regional residents participated in the fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, an all-night event with constant walkers on the Relay Track, marching in the fight against cancer.
Local relay groups set up food booths, provided entertainment and organized activities.
The luminary-candle ceremony was held in remembrance of those who have died from cancer.
