| The last meeting of the Calhoun County Board of Education with current members attending was held last week. Three new members will be seated in July (See earlier Herald story with highlights of meeting).
A bid was approved for the removal of carpet from CM-HS, to be replaced by tile, a project funded by the School Building Authority.
The board approved to hire an athletic trainer through Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center.
Don Harris, outgoing board member, reported that the truck driving course at Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center was still on hold. The water project to provide service to the center from Gilmer County is moving ahead.
A volunteer agreement for Gina Hicks was approved for Pleasant Hill School.
An agreement was made with a company to provide athletic and student voluntary insurance.
An early release request was approved for Reba Church.
Dates or board meetings were approved for 2006-07.
