Family Court will be moving to new Grantsville quarters
Calhoun's Family court is expected to be in new quarters this year, through a lease agreement with Calhoun Banks and the Calhoun Commission.
Calhoun Banks, the owner of the Khoury Building on Main Street, will be doing extensive remodeling to meet the WV Supreme Courts criteria, and the building will be leased by the commission for the court's use.
County's are mandated by the court to provide space for the Family Court. Previously, one room in the magistrate's office in the court house was utilized, but the court felt it was too cramped.
The Calhoun Commission has received $13,250 to provide security to the family court building, which will be located on the first floor. Security will include cameras, recording equipment and alarm buttons. |
