Police made arrests in two incidents at separate ends of the county Sunday, after weapons were reported to be involved.
Trooper 1st Class Jeff Hunt arrested Sherri Lynn Roberts, 51, of Spencer, after she brandished a .22 rifle during a dispute near the Calhoun-Clay line (Rt. 16).
Officer Hunt reported that Roberts brandished the weapon on Shawna and James Mangrun inside a residence, ordering them to leave the dwelling.
"The weapon was pointed at her and her husband's face," said Shawna Mangrun.
Police said during the dispute Mangrun shut the door to a bedroom to prevent Roberts from entering, the woman then shoved the barrel of the rifle through the door, making a hole, after which she made them leave the dwelling at gunpoint.
Roberts was arrested on domestic assault and taken to Central Regional Jail, where she was released on bond.
Two State Police officers from Ritchie County responded to a situation at Big Springs after shots were reportedly fired.
Carl Eugene Kight, 52, of Big Springs, was arrested by Calhoun Sheriff Carl Ballengee for shooting within 500 feet of a house and for obstructing an officer.
State Police said Kight refused to get on the ground after he was ordered out of a house, and had to be wrestled and handcuffed, according to Sheriff Ballengee.
Kight was released on bond.
An Arnoldsburg man, Marvin Dean Holstein, 33, was arrested Sunday for domestic assault and battery on his estranged wife. He was taken to Central Regional Jail after being arrested by Trooper 1st Class Jeff Hunt.
Police indicated Robin Holstein complained she had been battered, saying the couple were in the process of divorce.
He was being held on $10,000 bond.
Holstein was on home confinement related to an earlier case.
