| Ralph M. Jernigan, 59, of Spencer, died Wednesday, May 10, 2006, in the Roane General Hospital, Spencer.
He was born April 19, 1947, in Lillington, NC, a son of Mary Ellen Barefoot Jernigan of Lillington, NC and the late Millard Molton Jernigan. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Lois Douglas and one brother, Truett Jernigan.
Ralph was a drilling fluid engineer for NEMSCO, Clarksburg and a graduate of the University of West Florida, Pensacola, FL. He was an Air Force veteran and a member of the Slate United Methodist Church, Spencer.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Linda Stonestreet Jernigan of Spencer; one son, Mark Ryan Jernigan of Parkersburg; one daughter, Christen Lee Jernigan of Austin, TX; one step daughter, Laura Knight of Parkersburg; two brothers, Millard Jernigan of West Jefferson, NC and Hugh Jernigan of Lillington, NC.
A funeral service was conducted Saturday, May 13 at 11 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Daniel R. "Danny" Whited officiating. Burial was in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer.
