Funeral services are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg for Kenneth Ray Boggs, 20, who died Saturday in an ATV accident near Mineral Wells, off Route 21.
Boggs has roots in Calhoun County.
Also killed on an ATV this past weekend was an 8-year-old Marion County girl, Cara Jo Culver. She was riding an ATV at a friend's house.
ATV deaths are expected to top last year, with West Virginia leading the nation.
BOGGS DEATH
In addition to his father, Bernard "Ray" Boggs, he is survived by his grandmothers, Maggie Stump of Glenville and Frankie Mowrey of Creston. He is also survived by several uncles, aunts and cousins; a special friend, Caity Starcher; as well as Josh and Jerimiah.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Hilda Boggs in 2001 and his grandparents, Hedge Stump of Glenville and Leonard and Alma Boggs, both of Grantsville.
He attended church at the Big Tygart United Methodist Church and was employed at Frames Etc. in Parkersburg. He was a 2004 graduate of Parkersburg South High School and was very active in sports.
The Rev. Jeffrey Mayfield will officiate his funeral. Burial will be at Big Tygart Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
