| Charleston Area Medical Center says Calhoun resident William Edward Kent Vandal, Jr., about 20, remains in ICU following a gunshot wound on April 30th.
State Police say Vandal was shot in the left arm pit and chest area, during an altercation in a remote area of Ritchie County, not far from the Wirt County line.
Sgt. T. D. Corbitt has charged Richard "Bucky" Bell. 39, of Annamoriah, with attempted murder.
He reportedly shot Vandal with a .44 magnum, according to three witnesses.
Sgt. Corbitt said Bell had been involved in a physical altercation with Vandal, in a location where a Saturday night party was being held.
Bell has been released on $25,000 bond.
