May is National Foster Care Month.
It is a time to share the success stories of foster care and to inform those in our community and across the country of the need to keep those children who are in foster care in their own communities and schools.
The Ohio Valley is fortunate to have caring families who open their hearts and homes to children in need; however, there is a great need for more dedicated individuals to make a lasting difference in the lives of our children by becoming foster parents.
If you know a family providing foster care, take a moment to thank them for making a difference in the life of a child.
If you are interested in helping a child by becoming a foster parent, please contact Jackie Blankenship through the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources at 304-354-6118, extension 111.
