Phil Schenk, executive director of the WV Primary Care Association, presents national "super hero" award to Congresswoman Capito
While Congresswoman Shelly Moore Capito visited Minnie Hamilton's school-based health clinic at Mt. Zion Monday, she was presented a national award for her contribution to student health.
Capito was presented the "2006 Super Hero Award" by Phil Schenk, executive director of the West Virginia Primary Care Association, for her outstanding leadership in expanding health care access to millions of uninsured and medically under-served Americans.
Schenk said community health centers serve as "the medical home to over 300,000 people in WV."
He said the centers have a solid record of keeping communities healthy and disease free.
