US marshals captured 23-year-old Matthew Putnam and 27-year-old Robert Crum at 1:45 p.m. yesterday at a residence in Cabell County. Putnam and Crum escaped from the minimum security Ohio County Correctional Center in Wheeling on Monday, by breaking a lock in a kitchen and scaling a fence. Putnam and his brother robbed a Burnsville bank, and then attempted to escape on their 4-wheeler. Putnam was sentenced from Braxton County and was being held for a parole violation on a conspiracy to commit grand larceny conviction. Both inmates are now facing new felony charges related to their escape. Putnam was scheduled to go before a parole board in May. Earlier stories on the PUTNAM brothers, use SEARCH< |
