Leverene "Ol'Ma" Jarvis Harper, 85, of Gandeeville, went home to be with her Savior, Monday, March 27, 2006.
She was born July 23, 1920, in Calhoun County, the daughter of the late Robert and Delilah Ellison Jarvis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Harper; two sons, Robert Milt and Jerry Dean Harper.
She was a Christian, a self employed merchant, retired employee of Kellwood and a former Red Cross volunteer. She enjoyed flowers, yard work, knitting, crocheting, sewing and quilting.
Survivors include her daughters, Enid (Larry) Harpold and Bobbette (Norris Browne) Harper; special friend, Mary Taylor; grandchildren, Sean (Becky) Harpold, Rachel Harpold, Chris (Kelli) Kroeger, Harper (Dan) Thacker, and Belinda (Nate) Carpenter; great grandchildren, Robert, Chelse, Hanna, Josie, Elli, Liam, Collin Russell, Michael, Mikayla and Shayla; and her beloved Honey.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday, March 31 at 1:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Don Ramsey and Chaplain Jake Moyer officiating. Burial will be in the Harper Cemetery, Jones Ridge, Harmony. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who can, to adopt a pet from the local animal shelter in memory of Leverene.
