Alma E. Ford, 93, of Belpre died July 6, 2001 in the Camden-Clark Memorial
Hospital.
She was born April 26, 1908 in Calhoun County, daughter of the late James C. and
Sarah St! ump VanHorn. They moved to Belpre in 1920 via a riverboat on the
Little Kanawha River. Mrs. Ford was a charter member of Emmanuel Baptist
Church in Parkersburg and a member of the Belpre Senior Citizens. She was
employed at the Parkersburg Greyhound Bus Station for 25 years in the capacity
of restaurant manager.
Survivors include one son, Robert C. Ford, Jr. of Sterling, Va.; two daughters,
Jean Beatty and husband Gene A. of Parkersburg, and Dolores Blood and
husband Russ of Eustis, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 8
great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and two special friends,
Debbie Ziegler and Jeanette Miller, both of Belpre.
Mrs. Ford was preceded in death by one son, James G. Ford of Baltimore, Md.;
four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Tatman Fune! ral Home in
Belpre with the Rev. David A. Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in Rockland
Cemetery, Belpre. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Mrs. Ford's memory
to Emmanuel Baptist Church, Parkersburg.
