Former Huntington columnist of 33-years, Dave Peyton will begin writing two columns
a week at the Charleston Daily Mail Tuesday and Thursday. Peyton was axed at the
Huntington-Herald Dispatch for violating a corporate policy.
Peyton and his dog Fred gained attention when Peyton ran the animal in a write-in
campaign for governor in 1999. Fred got about 100 votes.
"I'm thrilled to add Dave Peyton to the Daily Mail's stable of columnists," said editor
Nanya Friend.
He joins L. T. Anderson, one of the areas most widely read columnists.
