Jack D. Simmons, 72, of High Point, NC, died Friday, February 28, 2006, in the Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC.
He was born December 10, 1933, at Clover, Roane County, a son of the late Smith and Florence Smith Simmons.
Jack has lived in the Virginia - North Carolina area for the past 25 years. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Also, he was a Jehovah's Witness.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Diana and Colin Waldeck of Mineral Wells and Beverly and Ronald Richards of Parkersburg; one brother, Gene Simmons of Sandusky, OH; two grandchildren, Jocie Waldeck and Natasha Moore; three stepchildren, Tammie Grant and Marcia Turnmire both of Archdale, NC and Holly Simmons of High Point, NC; four step grandchildren, Jennifer Grant, Madison Turnmire, Austin Turnmire and Mason Simmons; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, "Lynn".
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, March 4 at 1:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Leon B. Strickland officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery, Clover.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Friday. |
