Melvin Harold Shaffer, 55, of Stumptown, Gilmer County, West Virginia, passed away February 25, 2006 at his home.
Born in Calhoun County, he was a son of Harold T. Shaffer of Stumptown and Thelma Wyer of Grantsville, WV.
Surviving are his wife, Idris Cunningham Shaffer and a son, Melvin Harold Shaffer, Jr. at home; a daughter, Natasha Shaffer Phillips and her husband Matthew of Raeford, NC; granddaughter, Summer Mackenzie Phillips of Raeford; brothers, William Shaffer and his wife Bonnie and David Wood and his wife Julie; sister, Thelma Collins and her husband Junior; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 1 at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Stumptown. Reverends Harry Siers and John Vannoy will officiate. Interment will be in the Collins Community Cemetery at Stumptown.
Friends may call at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville from 6 to 8 Tuesday evening and one hour prior to the services at the church. |
