It was a busy night for the Upper West Fork Volunteer Fire Department with the spring forest fire season kicking-off with a bang.
Four brush fires were reported.
They responded to three brush fires on the left fork of Mud Fork yesterday evening, the Arnoldsburg VFD assisted them on one of the calls.
Mud Fork is located a few miles off State Route 16, Stinson.
The fires on Mud Fork were strung along a two mile area from the intersection at the community church.
Suspicions were being raised that the fires could have been set.
They were also summoned to a brush fire near the CCCOA building at Minnora, but it turned out to be a controlled burn.
At 4 a.m. this morning they were summoned about two-and-one-half miles up Walker Road near the Justin Wizard residence to another brush fire.
During the busy evening, the department also answered a call for a four-vehicle accident near Arnoldsburg.
