| Helen Gertrude Jarvis, 83, of Looneyville, died Tuesday, February 21, 2006, after a long illness.
She was born May 8, 1922, in Roane County, a daughter of the late Leslie and Hazel Simmons Burns. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael David Combs.
Survivors include her husband, Otto H. Jarvis of Looneyville; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Sharon Jarvis of Milton; one daughter and son-in-law, Clara and David Combs of Spencer; three grandchildren, Michelle Wilt and husband, Jeffery of Myrtle Beach, SC, Angela Esquivel and husband, Tod of Indianapolis, IN and Matthew Jarvis of Huntington; one great grandson, Aden Esquivel of Indianapolis, IN; one sister, Madeline Boggs of Tariff; two brothers, Arnold Burns of Looneyville and Charles Burns of Stollings.
A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, February 23 at 2:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Leon B. Strickland officiating. Burial will be in the Jarvis Cemetery, Tariff.
Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until 2:00 p.m. Thursday. |
