A Roane County water project has been funded.
Final funding is now in place for a water line extension that will serve customers along U.S. 33 east of Spencer (Arnoldsburg Road) to the Calhoun County line, according to Spencer Newspapers.
Gov. Joe Manchin announced the funding package last week, amounting to $2.37 million.
The project joins the announcement of a $4 million water project along Rt. 16 south of Arnoldsburg to the Upper West Fork Park, a project of the Mt. Zion PSD and the Calhoun Commission.
The Calhoun project covers 21-miles and extends through Millstone, Sand Ridge, out Sassafras Ridge to Russett.
Spencer Mayor Terry Williams said the project area includes Boggs Fork and Slate Road. Approximately 107 customers will be added to the city system.
The Roane project has been on-the-board for about five years.
