| Mabel O. Newell, 97, of Arnoldsburg, West Virginia, died Sunday, February 12, 2006 at Miletree of Spencer.
She was born July 25, 1908 in Braxton County, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Ora Stackpole Edgell. She was a member of Walnut Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Newell in 1984; a brother, Ernest Edgell; two sisters, Opal Barr and Ola Chenoweth; and a great granddaughter, Jennifer Arnold.
She is survived by two daughters, Genevieve Smith and Joyce Arnold; one sister, Nell Mayse; two granddaughters, Shelly Lynch and Tammy Whitnable; four grandsons, Randel Smith, Mark Arnold, Matt Arnold and Jon Arnold; 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, February 17 at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Reverends James Chenoweth and Rick Swearingen will officiate. Interment will be in the Minnora Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. |
