Arvilla Flora Ford Holbert Millican, 85, of Big Springs, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on January 27, 2006.
She was born September 26, 1920 in Doddridge County, WV, a daughter of the late Terrance and Margaret Tate Ford. She was a homemaker and faithful member of the Blessed Hope Baptist Church of Big Springs.
She was a loving supportive wife, mother and grandmother who is survived by her husband of 23 years, Verlin Millican; 5 daughters, Linda (Buck) Shaffer of Elyria, Ohio, Naomi White of Lagrange, Ohio, Margaret (Buck) Kerby, Carol (Gary) Dye, and Sharon (Jim) Yeager all of Big Springs; 3 step children, Don (Holly) Millican of Norton, Ohio, Connie (Harry) Stover of Penisula, Ohio, Eddie Millican of Big Springs; 24 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews; 5 sisters in law and 3 brothers in law.
She was also a foster mother to Betty Robinson of Big Springs and Ruby Hopkins(deceased).
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first Husband, Dail Holbert on June 12, 1970; 3 sisters, Nellie, Roanna and Dorothy; 4 brothers, Alfred, Ronsel, Brooks and Audrey; great grandson, Alex McKenzie Dawson; son in law, Delbert Joe White; daughter in law, Jan Millican; and step granddaughter, Amy Millican.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, January 29 at the Blessed Hope Baptist Church at Big Springs. Reverends Dallas Smith and Alfred Hickman will officiate. Interment will be in the Fluharty Cemetery, Big Springs.
