Calhoun County Clerk Richard Kirby said filing for public offices is more than slow this month, with only two days left for perspective candidates to appear at his office who want to enter local races.
Candidates can still file by mail if the papers are postmarked by midnight Saturday, January 29th.
The only candidate to file for county commissioner is incumbent Larry McCallister (Democrat).
Only one candidate had filed for three openings on the school board, incumbent Carlene Frederick.
Several candidates have filed for the Democrat and Republican executive committees. |
