| Virginia Alice Smith, 82, of Williamsburg, VA, died Tuesday, January 3, 2006, in Williamsburg, Virginia.
She was born May 19, 1923, at Bomont, WV, the daughter of the late Rome and Pearl Daugherty. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hunter Paul Smith; and a daughter, Virginia Gay Smith Hamric.
Survivors include a daughter, Jane Smith of Williamsburg, VA; three sons, Hunter and his wife, Jo of Charleston, WV, Scott and his wife, Terri of Bridgeport, WV and Eric of Natural Bridge, VA; a son-in-law, Ed Hamric of Spencer, WV; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild; a sister, Mary Louise Moss of Oak Hill, WV; two brothers, Paul and Jim Daugherty both of California.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, January 7 at 11:00 a.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery, Clover. Friends may call at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday. Also, the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Bucktrout Funeral Home, Williamsburg, VA.
