(12/24/2005) |
West Virginia has one of the nation's slowest growing populations. The US Census Bureau shows the state's estimated population grew by two-tenths of a percent between July 1st, 2004, and this past July. That means the state grew by about 4,800 residents to a total estimated population of one million-816-thousand-856. The nation's estimated population grew by nine-tenths of a percent during the same period. Nevada was again the nation's fastest growing state with an estimated population increase of three-and-a-half percent. Arizona, Idaho, Florida and Utah were the other fastest-growing states.
