| Virgil R. Rogers, 83, passed away December 15th, 2005 at his home in Kent, Ohio. He was born September 23, 1922 in Big Bend, West Virginia, Calhoun County the son of Bill and Iva Rogers.
He served in the US Army 109 49th engineer in Europe. from Jan 1, 1943 till Jan 25, 1946 and was a reservist for three years. He spent most of his life in the Akron area and worked for Goodyear Rubber Factory, and was a painting contractor. He retired as a maintenance worker from First Merit Bank.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Wilfred Davis and 'Dot' Swisher; and one brother, Billy Rogers.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Deloris of 59 years; one sister, Virginia Risser; five sisters in law, Marguerite Zatik, Oleta Ferrell, Leona Yoak, Joan Jones and Lenore Jones; one brother in law and his wife, Jim and Brenda Jones; and several nieces, nephews, and friends, and his very special furry friends, Pee Wee and Sammy.
Services will be at Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville, WV, Monday, December 19th at 2 p.m. with Rev. C.W. McDonald, assisted by Rev. Greg Swisher, nephew. Visitation will be Sunday, December from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at the Maze Cemetery at Munday, WV.
