The Calhoun Commission approved a User Agreement form for the use of Wayne Underwood Field, which also includes rules for the facility.
The agreement was prepared by the Calhoun County Wood Festival Committee, the group now in charge of maintaining and operating the facility.
Members of the commission will be meeting today with officials from the WV Supreme Court who are meeting with representatives of the Calhoun Bank.
The Supreme Court is looking at leasing the Khoury Building on Main Street in Grantsville for the Family Court system.
The Supreme Court wants the commission to sign-off on a lease for the project which involves having the bank complete about $40,000 worth of renovations.
Some commission members expressed concern that the Supreme Court had yet to pay for about $10,000 the commission paid for renovations for inside the courthouse in past years.
A new appointment for the Calhoun EMS board was put on hold pending a recommendation of that board.
Clerk Richard Kirby said plans are moving ahead to use $15,000 of excess grant money to repair heating boilers in the courthouse.
There was considerable discussion about how to use a Courthouse Facilities Grant to replace 70 windows in the courthouse. Many of the original windows are in disrepair and are not energy efficient. The commission approved a resolution for MOVRC Tim Meeks to move forward with an application.
The commission will apply again for an elevator grant for the courthouse.
The commission approved a one-time pay increase, not permanent, of $250 for full-time county employees and $125 for part-time employees, to be issued during the Christmas season.
The county employees Christmas Dinner is scheduled for noon on Dec. 20.
The commission approved bonds, bills, wills and settlements.
