Wheeling Central (10-4) won the state's Class A football championship Saturday night. Brandon Tucker rushed for 201 yards and set a Class A state championship game record with four touchdowns.
It was a 35-20 victory against No. 1 Williamstown (13-1) at Wheeling Island Stadium.
The Calhoun Red Devils, suffering multiple injuries, reached the playoffs this year, but were defeated during their first game.
