Auto lands on top in Big Bend drive-way

A Calhoun man was charged with DUI, driving while suspended and no insurance following a car wreck Friday night at Big Bend.

Christopher Strouse, 24, was arrested by Trooper 1st Class Jeff Hunt. He is being held in Central Regional Jail.

Neither driver nor passengers were apparently injured when a Ford Thunderbird went out of control on Rt. 5 in Big Bend.

The auto landed on its top in a driveway belonging to Jesse Jackson, teetering on rolling over the hill against the Jackson house.

Sheriff Carl Ballengee was looking for one or more of the occupants who apparently fled the scene. With temperatures under 20 degrees, one of the occupants reportedly was not wearing a shirt.

Calhoun EMS dispatched an ambulance to the scene, assisted by the Grantsville VFD.

Auto was extensively damaged, police investigating
