| Jessica E. Koon, 66, of Spencer, died Thursday, December 1, 2005, in the Roane General Hospital, Spencer, after a short illness.
She was born March 1, 1939, in Roane County, a daughter of the late Orlando and Fronna Cottrell Nester. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, four sisters and a granddaughter.
Mrs. Koon was a homemaker, 14 year employee of Kellwood Corp., former employee of Roane General Hospital, a private duty nurse and a Baptist.
Survivors include her children, Betty Jean Koon Moore, Jimmy Lee Koon, Cathy Joann Koon Nutter and Michael Eugene Koon all of Spencer, Anthony Wayne "Tony" Koon of Stanley, VA, Joyce Diane Koon Matics of Luray, VA and Brian Keith Koon also of Stanley, VA; 23 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, December 4 at 2:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Randall L. "Randy" Whited officiating. Burial will be in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Saturday.
