Gates Eckward (Bud) (Wig) Wigner, 89, of San Francisco, Calif., passed away Nov. 18, 2005, at his home.
He was born in Grantsville, W.Va., a son of the late Cannis Martin Wigner and Carrie Elizabeth Gates Wigner.
Mr. Wigner served as a pharmacist in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
After his discharge, he began working as a pharmacist the very next day at the San Francisco Veterans Hospital, where he remained for 38 years until his retirement in 1985.
He was forever indebted to West Virginia School of Pharmacy for giving him his start in life and of which he became a generous benefactor in his later years.
Surviving are his sister, Mrs. Josephine Richards of Parkersburg; nephews, Cannif Duncan, John Duncan, Mike Richards and Greg Richards; and four surrogate grandchildren, Sarah, Becca, Joe and Eva.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St., Parkersburg, with the Rev. David Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. There will be a visitation from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
