(11/24/2005)

Three Amish hunters from Middlefield, Ohio are in Central Regional Jail with multiple charges related to illegal deer kills, according to the Roane County Magistrate Court.

They described themselves as Ohio businessmen.

DNR officer John Apgar arrested the trio yesterday.

Two of the men did not have a hunting license, but all three violated gaming laws, including failing to check the deer.

Apgar reportedly confiscated six deer from the party. Leroy O. Miller, 23, was charged with five counts. Marvin O. Miller, 29, and Owen O. Miller, 29, were charged with seven counts.

Official charges in magistrate Russell Goodwin's court in Spencer included illegal possession and illegal transport.

Goodwin set bond at $500.

A man who was identified as their driver was also charged.
