At least two WV hunters have died during the first two days of the deer season.
A Gilmer County hunter has died from an apparent heart attack.
He has been identified as 74-year-old Roy Lee Thompson of Sandfork. Thompson was found by his son in the woods in the Sandfork area at about 6 o'clock last night.
Division of Natural Resources spokesman Hoy Murphy says a hunter in Nicholas County died after a fall from a tree stand yesterday.
Sixty-three-year-old Gary Wright of Cornelius, North Carolina, apparently missed a step and got a leg caught in the six-foot-high stand, which left him hanging upside down.
He died of positional asphyxiation.
