Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center will be hosting an orientation session for a possible CDL Truck Driving Program. The session is being conducted to see if there would be enough individuals interested in attending evening classes to obtain a CDL Truck Driving license.
The event is at 6 p.m. Thursday, December 8 at Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center, 5 miles east of Grantsville on State Route 5.
This project would be in conjunction with the Fred Eberle Technical Center, Buckhannon, WV. Mike Cutright, Director, Fred Eberle Technical Center will be present at the meeting to discuss the program and possible funding sources.
The program consists of 240 hours of instruction, which covers orientation, preparation for written test, pre-trip inspection, basic control skills, road driving skills, and related training.
Admission Requirements:
Must have a valid WV drivers license
Must be at least 18 years old, with 2 years driving experience
Must pass a DOT CDL physical examination and drug screen
High school graduate, GED, or persons willing to pursue a GED are preferred
Conform to a dress code and personal hygiene appropriate for the trucking industry
