Betty L. Walker, 66, of Spencer, died Saturday, June 23, 2001 in Hubbard
Hospice House in Charleston after an extended illness. She was a retired
cook for the Spencer Elementary School, and was a summer cook for the
Roane County 4-H Camp and Spring Heights UM Conference Center. She
attended the Spencer Church of Nazarene.
She is survived by sons, Randall and Kevin of Spencer, David of Dundalk,
Maryland, Terry of Kernersville, North Carolina and Robin of Cross Lanes;
daughter, Bridgett Marion of Charleston; sister, Charolette Evelsizer of Grant,
Alabama; brother, Ernest Parsons of Cottageville. Also seven grandchildren
and two step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Garnard R. Walker in 1979 and
her parents, Ernest and Lura Hazel Burdette Parsons.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 26 at 11 a.m. in the John
H. Taylor Funeral Home in Spencer with the Rev. Mike Smith officiating.
Burial will be in the Walker Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m.
Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Hubbard Hospice
House, 1001 Kennawa Drive, Charleston 25311.
