Thomas A. Wood, 91, of Reedy, died Sunday, June 24, 2001 in Roane General
Hospital, he was a retired station operator for Columbia Gas and a farmer.
He was an active member of the Good Hope Baptist Church near Reedy. He
was a member of the Mt. Moriah Lodge #38 AF and AM and a former scout
leader.
Surviving, wife, M. Mildred McCutcheon Wood; sons, James of Spencer, Paul
of Heber Springs, Arkansas; Richard of Eutawville, South Carolina, David of
Reedy, Kenneth of Canal Winchester, Ohio; daughter, Doris Waldeck of
Belpre, Ohio and Betty Daggett of Parkersburg. Twelve grandchildren and 12
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents, Pearl Andrew and Fanny Agnes Cain
Wood; brothers, Ira and Hershel; sisters, Grace Dye, Virginia Dye
Cunningham, Lillian Chenoweth and Myrtle Wood, also a great-grandson,
Patrick.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 26 in the Good Hope
Baptist Church, Reedy. Rev. Leon Strickland will officiate. Burial will be in
the Good Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the John H. Taylor Funeral
Home in Spencer from 5 - 8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to services.
