Bessie M. Davis, 71, of Parkersburg died at the Willows Nursing Home.
She was born July 25, 1934, in Calhoun County, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late Howard and Sarah Keller Wells. She was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church. She had done housekeeping and baby sitting for area residences.
Survivors include her six daughters, Jenny McWilliams of Parkersburg, Viola Richards of Parkersburg, Shelby Wilson of Marietta, Marie Smith of Vincent, Betty Caplinger of Belpre and Karen McIntyre of Davisville; two sons, Dwayne Davis of Belpre and Roy Davis of Parkersburg; a sister, Orpha Lipscomb of Barberton, Ohio; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one niece, Maggie Whaley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert Junior Davis; a son, Robert Davis; an infant son; and two brothers.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Jerry Caplinger officiating. Burial will follow in the Parkersburg Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home and up to service time on Tuesday
