Two accidents reportedly happened at Spencer Veneer's plant this evening within a half-hour of each other.
The veneer operation has been plagued with accidents and at least one death related to apparent safety violations.
The Roane County Emergency Squad responded to a call at 3:57 p.m. for what was reported to be a sawmill accident.
At 4:31 p.m. the squad dispatched another ambulance to the company for a "possible electrocution."
Spencer Veneer is located at the old Spencer airport, the former site of B. F. Goodrich.
The company did not answer the phone to confirm, nor was anyone commenting about the incidents Wednesday night. |
