NEW COMMITTEE & BOARD MEMBERS - The Calhoun Wood Festival is up and running with new officers and fresh, new ideas.
New Committee officers are - Judy Powell, President; Angie Hersman, Vice President; Sue Oshoway, Treasurer; and Crystal Kendall, Secretary.
Official Board of Directors members are - Judy Powell, Angie Hersman, Sue Oshoway, John Oshoway, Crystal Kendall, and Chuck Kendall.
ANNUAL SNOWFLAKE PAGEANTS - The Committee is working on registering girls for the 2nd Annual Snowflake Pageant, one of the Wood Festival Committee's best fund raisers. The pageant will be held Saturday, November 19 at Calhoun Middle-High School. Crystal Kendall is this year's Pageant Director, assisted by Sue Oshoway. Raffle tickets for a beautiful 2005 Wood Festival Basket are being sold by Snowflake Pageant participants in a contest to see who can sell the most tickets and win a special prize. The basket will be raffled during the Snowflake Pageant, you don't need to be present to win, although the committee would love for you to be there to root for your favorite contestant.
DRUG FREE NEW YEAR DANCE - The Festival Committee will be hosting a drug and alcohol free New Year's Eve Dance/Party. Look for more details to be coming out soon. The Committee hopes to make it a most memorable evening for all who attend.
WAYNE UNDERWOOD FIELD - The Wood Festival Committee is currently working on another project, as they have been asked to manage the Wayne Underwood Field, in Grantsville. The committee will be working on rules and regulations for the field as well as fund raising to keep improvements coming.
WOOD FESTIVAL WEBSITE - The Committee is currently working on a new website which will be announced as soon as it is up and running.
BINGO - The Wood Festival Committee is now licensed to do Bingo. Contact any committee member for details.
OUTDOOR FUN - Look for lots of outdoor fun coming in the Spring. All you motor sport lovers, keep your ears open because come the Spring, the committee is planning some fun events.
VOLUNTEERS - The committee is always looking for people who want to make a difference in their community to help out. Have a new idea or just a set of helping hands to loan out? Come to the next meeting, times and dates are posted in both the Calhoun Chronicle and on the Hur Herald.
43RD WOOD FESTIVAL BASKETS - The Calhoun County Wood Festival is selling the remainder of the 43rd Annual Calhoun County Wood Festival Baskets. To purchase a basket, please contact Sue Oshoway 354-9204, Crystal Kendall 354-7644, Judy Powell 354-6118 or Angie Hersman 354-6672. Basket with liner $35, basket without liner $32.
The 2005-2006 Wood Festival Committee are working to bring excitement, entertainment and good family fun to our beloved Calhoun County.
