FORMER WIRT CIRCUIT CLERK HAS DIED - Susan Bush Siers Has Calhoun Connections

Former Wirt County Circuit Clerk, Susan Bush Siers, 53, has died.

Siers, a Wirt resident, formerly of Lower Run with many Calhoun connections, died November 3 following a two-year battle with ovarian cancer.

She had been Circuit Clerk for ten years.

Family members said she was very involved in her community and was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church, where they will miss her beautiful voice in the choir on Sunday mornings.

She even managed to share herself across the world through mission activities, including a trip to Bolivia during a break from treatments.

Family members said she believed her greatest accomplishment was her children and grandchildren to whom she dedicated her life.

She was born March 11, 1952, at her home on Lower Run in Gilmer County, the daughter of the late Holly Guy and Artie Blanche Richards Bush, and was married to Larry Siers, who survives, he husband of 36 years.

She is survived by a son, Charles Darren Siers and his wife, Tina, of Elizabeth; a daughter, Christina Diane Haymaker and her husband, Steve, of Huntington; and a daughter, Brandy Sue Siers of Elizabeth.

She also has three grandchildren, Madison Haymaker of Huntington and Walker and Sydney Siers of Elizabeth. Her mother-in-law, Irene Siers, resides in Cynthiana, Ky.

She has eight living siblings, Elenore Skidmore (Jim) of Belpre, Bill Bush (Cookie) of Mineral Wells, Lona Smith (Allen) of Middlebourne, Pat Maxwell (Jack) of Glenville, Jim Bush (Betty), Guy Bush (Karen) and Charlotte Sidwell (June), all of Grantsville, and Judy Gant (Paul) of Palestine.

She also has one brother-in-law, Melvin (Charlotte) of Veradale, Wash.; and two sisters-in-law, Judy Johnson (Warren) of Cynthiana, Ky., and Karen Offutt (Lention) of Elizabeth. She was preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law, Charles Holden Siers; two sisters, Ruby Gainer and Betty Dunbar; and a brother, Bob Bush.

Her body was donated through the Gift registery to the WVU School of Medicine for cancer research.

Memorial visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Matheny Pomroy Funeral Home in Elizabeth. A memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at Elizabeth Baptist Church.
