| A.J. Murphy, 19, of Left Hand, West Virginia, died Wednesday, November 2, 2005, near Chapmanville, in an oil rig accident.
He was born February 7, 1986, in Charleston, the son of Peach Conley Murphy of Left Hand and Jim Murphy of Columbus, Ohio.
A.J. was an employee of S.W. Jack Drilling Company and a 2003 graduate of Roane County High School.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Heather Murphy of Left Hand; a half sister, Tammy Murphy of Columbus, Ohio; maternal grandmother, Goldie Whiting of Tariff.
He was preceded in death by a half brother, "Jimbo" Murphy.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, November 5 at 1 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Pastor Bill Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Jarvis-Conley Cemetery, Tariff.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Friday.
