Calhoun's Paul Goodrich is on the Kennedy Watch list, one of the leading candidates for the Kennedy Award, which goes to the top high school football player in the state as voted on by members of the West Virginia Sports Writers Association.
An October 31 news release lists Goodrich: Calhoun County, RB â Week: 30 carries, 208 yards in a 35-0 over Braxton County; 1-of-1 passing, 35 yards, TD; 2-point conversion run. Season: 215 carries, 1,812 yards, 23 TDs. Team record: 8-1.
Goodrich's performance in Friday evenings game with St. Marys could push him further to the top.
Calhoun will close this season, play-off bound, Friday evening at Mt. Zion, in what is billed as a tough game with St. Marys, also 8-1.
