Chilly temperatures are a reminder that winter is soon to come.
And there is a new home for fighting winter weather problems at the The WV Department of Highways garage.
The giant Cover-All salt and sand storage building is constructed from a number of materials, but the main steel frame is covered by a long-lasting fabric, and will house salt, cinders and other products which need to be protected from the elements.
Trucks can drive straight in the building for quick loading, and the ice-melting spreaders are hung in a section at the rear of the building, for easy installation on trucks.
The space-age buildings use natural night, the building generally stays about 15 degrees warmer than the outside temperature in winter.
CoverAll is selling the buildings across the US for use for everything from ice rinks and sports arenas to storage units and retail outlets. They are also being used for fairs and horse tracks.
Highway department workers attended the open house, which dedicated the building to the winter weather ahead.
