![]() A farm tractor tipped over and rolled down a steep hillside on Spring Run about 4 p.m. yesterday injuring the driver. Matt Ashley, described in his 40s, was seriously injured when he was thrown from the implement, which was reportedly being used to brush-hog the hillside. Ashley was life-flighted by Health Net from Arnoldsburg, where he was taken by Calhoun EMS. He reportedly was suffering from a head and leg injury. Ashley was a four-time state high school wrestling champion at Spencer. He was the wrestling coach at Wirt County High School for a while and a volunteer assistant coach at Calhoun High School. His son Justin was a three-time state champ at Calhoun. The tractor appeared to have lost a tire on the hillside, and the tractor landed in Spring Run. Ashley, who is well-known in the county as a horseman, was performing work on another farm. Spring Run is a tributary off U. S. 33-119 in Arnoldsburg. The Arnoldsburg VFD also responded to the emergency call. |
