The Calhoun Commission continued local relief efforts to the Upper West Fork section of Calhoun, following a flash flood which struck the area.

OES Director Bill Stemple said the flooding did not cross the threshold for receiving disaster relief.

The commission has approved $2,500 to help replace appliances at Upper West Fork Park community building, about $2,500 for a dumpster and trash dumping, and about $1,000 to Upper West Fork VFD to assist other community relief efforts.

The commission also passed a motion to give any further cash contributions they receive to the Upper West Fork area.

They approved a $500 draw-down account to help fix rest rooms at the field, acknowledged the construction and paving of the walking trail, and obtained an update on the construction of two picnic shelters on the field.
